Caorle

Of the various ancient towns in the Veneto, Caorle, with its waterfront and various rural landscapes, is certainly the most picturesque. A corner of paradise between land and sea.

History

Of clear Roman origins, the town derives its name from the past, Caprulae in fact, the ancient name for Caorle, meaning more or less an island inhabited by goats; however, the possibility cannot be ruled out that it was the cult of the pagan goddess Capris, in force when the town was founded, that paid for this name, which is still remembered by many today.

ScoglieraViva

The main feature of Caorle is undoubtedly 'ScoglieraViva', whose rocks are sculpted and decorated very carefully by artists from all over the world, great masters who come together in the month of July to create their marvellous works. This 'natural' art runs along the entire seafront, creating a wonderful effect by standing out against the clear sea behind it.

The Laguna

The Laguna of Caorle: it is a natural oasis of rare beauty, undoubtedly worth a visit. We recommend a trip aboard the motor vessels that depart from the port of Caorle just a short walk from the hotel.


Vallevecchia: an immense natural oasis recognised by the European Community as a Special Protection Area and Site of Community Importance.

Excursions

You can visit the lagoon of Caorle every day thanks to the Arcobaleno motorboat departing from the fishing port.


Caorle is also a starting point for visiting Venice. Thanks to the Motonave Caorle, directly from the fishing port, which is a 5-minute walk from the Hotel, you will reach Venice in no time.

Surroundings

The surroundings of Caorle offer a wide range of tourist destinations. Just 60 km away, Venice can be easily reached by land or sea with a combined ticket that includes a coach and motorboat. Other options include Padua, 100 km away, with its ancient university and Giotto's frescoes, Verona 180 km away, famous for Romeo and Juliet and the Arena, and Vicenza 130 km away, with Palladio's heritage. Just 20 km away is Concordia Sagittaria, with its Basilica and Roman remains, while Portogruaro, a medieval town nearby, is worth a visit during your holiday.

Venice

A city of art in its charm, it is only 60 km from Caorle and can be reached by land or sea. A return ticket is on sale at the information office for € 12.40, which includes the journey from Caorle to Punta Sabbioni by coach and from Punta Sabbioni to Venice by motorboat. For those who wish to travel by car, we recommend parking in Mestre and then reaching Venice by train. Finally, there is the possibility of arriving directly in St Mark's Square from the port of Caorle by motorboat Caorle, which makes daily connections.

Padua

The city of St. Anthony, is remembered for its ancient university, the stupendous frescoes by Giotto, Prato della Valle, the largest square in Europe, and the characteristic historical centre. It is 100 km from Caorle and can be reached by taking the A4 motorway in the direction of Milan.

Verona

The city of Romeo and Juliet, a must-visit destination for all lovers! Also famous is the magnificent Arena, which has hosted the Opera for years. It is about 180 km from Caorle and can be reached by taking the A4 motorway in the direction of Milan.

Vicenza

The city of Palladio and his villas, has a small historic centre, but full of interesting monuments, first and foremost the Olympic Theatre. Also worth seeing is the beautiful Sanctuary of the Madonna di Monte Berico.


It is 130 km from Caorle and can be reached by taking the A4 motorway in the direction of Milan.
